Life Afloat

Below where the light thins, a scene unfolds.

Life Afloat drifts. Pale, scalloped forms wander across a sand-colored ground, their edges worked in looping, white embroidery like the frill of a shell. Small bodies glide amongst them- coiled white discs, a buoyant pair of embroidered pearls, a meandering, sinuous line. A black form appears on the lower right, tethered by something out of frame, straining to float to the surface. 

Everything here is buoyant, and nothing is in a hurry. The palette stays warm and shallow- sand, bone, ecru, olive- while the quilting evokes gentle waves in calm waters. Hand made in Jaipur from antique silk sarees. 

Our 2026 collection of tapestries is made using a traditional hand-quilting technique. The result is a piece with a sculptural, three-dimensional presence that is also hard-wearing and lighter to hang. Each comes with removable top and bottom bars, so it can be displayed without additional hardware. 

All tapestries are editions of twenty, regardless of size or customization. Once the last one sells, it is added to the archives.
