Tiber Hollow
Twilight on the river.
Tiber Hollow is the most abstract piece in the collection and the most extreme in its contrasts. Black and ivory collide in powerful currents across the surface. A deluge of dark silk pours in, spilling over the top bank. Pale forms rise to meet their opposites, and a row of forms enclose the lower edge, like stones along a bank. At the center sits a deep black hollow ringed in bronze silk, a still moment, the eye of a whirlpool.
The palette is reduced and minimal: ivory, black, and a warm metallic edge that catches light as you pass. Hand-quilting draws the current lines across the surface, rippling and swelling. Made in Jaipur from antique silk sarees.
Our 2026 collection of tapestries is made using a traditional hand-quilting technique. The result is a piece with a sculptural, three-dimensional presence that is also hard-wearing and lighter to hang. Each comes with removable top and bottom bars, so it can be displayed without additional hardware.
All tapestries are editions of twenty, regardless of size or customization. Once the last one sells, it is added to the archives.
